To properly perform the Kalash installation and worship of the Mother Goddess, prepare a list of these essential materials in advance so that there are no obstacles in the practice:

  • Chawki and Asan: A wooden pedestal to place the idol of the Mother Goddess and a clean red cloth to be spread over it.
  • Kalash Materials: Clay, copper or brass Kalash, pure water, Ganga water, Kalava, mango or Ashoka leaves and a coconut with a tuft.
  • Chunari for Kalash: A small red chunari or red cloth to wrap the coconut.
  • Akshat and Roli: Unbroken rice (akshat), roli, vermilion and sandalwood for the puja.
  • Lamp and incense: Desi ghee lamp, long wick, camphor, incense sticks and matches.
  • Materials for sowing barley: A wide earthen pot, clean soil and clean barley for sowing.
