Actress became the voice of Priyanka

Now, regarding dubbing for Priyanka Chopra, Sayani says, " I was very excited to hear this offer because I really enjoy doing voice work. It involves the use of everything - voice, breath, understanding and modulation. Before 'The Bluff', no one had dubbed for her in Hindi, so I had a different responsibility. Her speaking style, the way her lips move while speaking, the way she takes breaths in between - I did the dubbing keeping all this in mind."

The first income was from the voice itself

Sayani Gupta's first earning came from her voice. She says, “When I was five years old, I sang for a radio commercial in the studio. When I left the studio, I found 500 rupees in an envelope. That was my first earning in life. I am still doing the same work. My father trained me in voice since childhood; he was a radio and theatre artist. As long as I lived in Kolkata, he would make me practice pronouncing the words correctly every day.”

Studies and art together

Talking about her journey to becoming an actress, Sayani says, “ For me, education and art went hand in hand. I always wanted to be an actress, but I never told anyone about it. I came to Delhi to pursue college, and during that time, I also pursued theatre and dance. Then, when I started working, I felt I could go to FTII (Film and Television Institute of India) to learn acting. Getting into acting wasn't a one-day decision; life just kept moving in that direction. ”

Supporting roles don't matter

After debuting with a central role in the film 'Second Marriage.com', Sayani played character roles in several films. She says, “I never had the desire to play lead roles or become a heroine. I grew up watching Bengali films and global cinema. I was interested in acting and always focused on becoming a good actress. I came to Mumbai and kept auditioning. I got my first film 'Second Marriage.com' in the lead role. After that, I did several films in supporting roles, in which my roles were very good.”

You get bored with the same roles

Regarding her priorities and upcoming projects, Sayani says, "My priority has always been to do good work and work with good people. I have done many types of projects like films, web series, short films. A web series will be released soon. But I get bored very quickly with the same kind of work, so I keep looking for different work."
