Soon, fantasy and card gaming apps like Dream11, My11 Circle, PokerBaazi and Rummy Circle may also stop money gaming on their platforms. It is believed that the implementation of the new law may cause a setback to the country's $3.8 billion online gaming industry.

It is worth noting that the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025 was passed by the Rajya Sabha on Thursday. It was already passed by the Lok Sabha. It will take the form of law as soon as it gets the President's approval.
The new law will also affect Games 2437 (operator of My11Circle and RummyCircle), Junglee Games, Winzo, Howzat, SG11 Fantasy, Gameskraft (RummyCulture) and PokerBaazi apps. Nazara Technologies, an investor in PokerBaazi despite its limited stake in real money gaming, may also be affected.

It is worth noting that the market value of Dream-11's Indian Premier League (IPL) is $8 billion and MPL's market value is $2.5 billion. MPL, which has stopped money gaming, said that it has stopped all money games on its platform with immediate effect as per the government ban.

All India Gaming Federation, E-Gaming Federation, Federation of Indian Fantasy Sports have jointly written a letter to Union Home Minister Amit Shah demanding immediate intervention in the matter. They say that such a complete ban will destroy this industry. This will lead to loss of jobs and crores of users will move to illegal foreign betting and gambling platforms.
