New Delhi. One Nation One Election: The path to holding assembly and Lok Sabha elections simultaneously in the country has now become easier. The proposal of One Nation One Election has been approved by the Modi cabinet today. After the report of the committee headed by former President Ramnath Kovind, this proposal has been approved in the cabinet.

The NDA government will bring this bill in the Parliament in the winter session.

Shah had given indications on completion of 100 days of the government 

The Modi government was serious about One Nation One Election since its last term. PM Modi had talked about One Nation One Election on many occasions and in election rallies as well. Recently, on completion of 100 days of the NDA government, Union Home Minister Amit Shah reiterated the NDA's resolution of One Nation One Election. Now a bill on this proposal will be introduced in the winter session of Parliament.

PM Modi mentioned this from Red Fort

On 15th August, on Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had mentioned One Nation-One Election in his speech from the Red Fort. He had said that frequent elections are hindering the progress of the country.

The report of the Kovind Committee is 18 thousand 626 pages long

The committee formed under the chairmanship of former President Ram Nath Kovind for One Nation One Election submitted its report to President Draupadi Murmu on March 14 this year. This report of One Nation One Election is of 18 thousand 626 pages.
