New Delhi: Mamata government has taken a big decision amidst the doctors' agitation in the Kolkata case. Mamata Banerjee government bowed down to the demands of junior doctors. The government has removed Vineet Kumar Goyal from the post of Kolkata Police Commissioner. Manoj Kumar Verma has been made the new Commissioner of Kolkata Police in his place. At the same time, Vineet Goyal has been transferred and made ADG of STF. 

Let us tell you that junior doctors are protesting demanding justice in the rape and murder case of a female doctor in RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. CM Mamata announced the removal of Kolkata Police Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner (North), Director of Health Services and Director of Medical Education after a meeting with junior doctors on Monday.

Who is Manoj Verma?

Manoj Verma, the new Commissioner of Kolkata Police, is a 1998 batch IPS officer. Earlier, he was on the post of ADG and IGP (Law and Order). Now this responsibility has been given to Javed Shamim. He is a 1995 batch IPS officer. At the same time, Vineet Goyal, who was removed from the post of Kolkata Police Commissioner, is a 1994 batch IPS officer.
