New Delhi: The Indian Medical Association has suspended the membership of former principal of RG Kar Hospital Sandip Ghosh. According to information given by news agency ANI, the disciplinary committee constituted by the national president of IMA headquarters, Dr. RV Ashokan, has unanimously decided to suspend the membership of Dr. Sandip Ghosh, vice-president of IMA Calcutta branch.
CBI is investigating
It is noteworthy that after the rape-murder case of a female doctor in Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, its former principal Sandip Ghosh also came under investigation. Sandip Ghosh resigned from the post of college principal the very next day of the incident. During the tenure of Sandip Ghosh, there were allegations of financial irregularities and corruption in the college, after which on the instructions of the Calcutta High Court, the CBI registered an FIR against Ghosh and started investigation.
CBI is tracking phone calls
The CBI had also conducted a polygraph test of Sandeep Ghosh. According to a report by news agency IANS, the CBI is now tracking the mobile phone calls made by Ghosh immediately after the body of the trainee doctor was found in the seminar room on the morning of August 9. The investigating officers are trying to find out what exactly happened during the conversations during those calls.
