New Delhi: Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra did not attend the wedding of Mukesh Ambani's son and was not in India at the time. Congress leaders on Tuesday refuted BJP MP Nishikant Dubey's claim in this regard.

While many leaders criticized the BJP MP on the occasion, Congress leader KC Venugopal raised the issue in the Lok Sabha. NCP MP Supriya Sule said that there is nothing wrong in attending a wedding.

On the other hand, Congress leader Supriya Shrinet said in an X post, 'Nishikant Dubey lied in the Lok Sabha that Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi had come to attend Ambani's wedding. The MP with a fake degree has a dirty disease of lying. Priyanka is not a member of the Lok Sabha, so taking her name is also a matter of privilege.'

While participating in the debate on the Finance Bill in the Lok Sabha, Nishikant had claimed that many politicians, including opposition leaders, were present at Anant Ambani's wedding. Priyanka was also among them. It is worth noting that Sonia Gandhi and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi stayed away from this wedding ceremony.
