
Itanagar:The discovery of the body of a boy in Arunachal Pradesh created a sensation in the area. The boy was kidnapped on July 22 and a ransom of Rs 25 lakh was demanded from his family. The child's body was found on Wednesday morning, a week after the kidnapping. The boy was identified as Rohit Bahadur Chhetri, who was a resident of Sadiya town of Arunachal Pradesh.
A ransom of Rs 25 lakh was demanded
According to the police, Rohit was abducted by the accused while he was returning home from school on July 22. Soon after his abduction, his father Noor Bahadur Chhetri received a ransom call demanding Rs 25 lakh.
Meanwhile, the father informed the police about his son's kidnapping and lodged a report. The police have made two arrests in this case. During interrogation, the suspects confessed to killing the boy and revealed that they had dumped his body in the Kalikhola area from where he was kidnapped.
Protests begin in the area
Now, after the murder of the child, protests have started in the area. A large number of people gathered on the streets and demanded justice. The Gorkha Students Union blocked the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh road near Digaru demanding death penalty for the accused.
