News Topical, Digital Desk : There are many characters in the Ramayana whose stories still mystify us. One such mysterious relationship was that of Ravana, the king of Lanka, and his niece Trijata. Ravana, known for his power and wisdom, was deeply afraid of his niece Trijata. There is a mythological story behind this fear; let's read that story.
Who was Trijata?
Trijata was the daughter of Ravana's younger brother, Vibhishana. Just as Vibhishana was a wise man, his daughter Trijata also possessed divine knowledge and powers. She could foresee future events, and her visions were never false. Despite being born into a demon clan, Trijata (Trijata's Role in Ramayana) stood for truth and justice. She knew that Ravana was committing unrighteous acts and that his end was certain.
Trijata's Dream (Trijata And Ravana Story)
When Sita was in Ashoka Vatika, Ravana sent several demons to harass her. One of these demons was Trijata. One night, Trijata had a terrifying dream that shook her to the core. She saw the entire city of Lanka burning to ashes. Ravana had been killed, and Vibhishana, Rama, and Lakshman, along with Sita, were flying over Lanka in the Pushpak Vimana.
Ravana's Fear of Trijata
Trijata recounted this dream to the other demonesses, promising that it would soon come true. This frightened the demonesses and they stopped harassing Sita. Ravana, however, became deeply troubled when he learned of this dream and Trijata's prophecy, knowing that Trijata's dreams never come true.
