News Topical, Digital Desk : A fake paddy transportation scam worth Rs 43 crore has been exposed in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. In this case, the Crime Branch Jabalpur has filed an FIR against a total of 28 people. These include rice millers and employees of NAN. In fact, recently, ruling party MLA Ajay Vishnoi from Patan, Jabalpur had written a letter to the District Collector and the State Government complaining that paddy transportation worth crores has been done on paper through fake RO in the district.
When an investigation team was set up on the complaint, it was found that the government has been cheated of crores of rupees through fake transportation of paddy allotted for milling. During investigation of the case, it was found that the scam was carried out in connivance with the officials and employees of the rice millers of Madhya Pradesh State Civil Supply Corporation. Through this, rice millers were found to transport paddy by making trips with fake vehicle numbers and then sell that paddy somewhere else.
Rice millers tried their best to sell paddy through fake paddy transportation. They loaded more paddy than the capacity in fake vehicles and showed fake transportation. Investigation revealed that 1 lakh 53 thousand quintals of paddy was transported in 694 trips using 165 fake vehicles. The vehicle whose loading capacity was not more than 200 quintals, showed transportation of 400 quintals of paddy.
The role of the food controller is suspicious.
Let us tell you that on the instructions received from Bhopal, Collector Deepak Saxena had assigned the responsibility of investigating the rice millers to district supply controller Nuzhat Bakkai. But Nuzhat Bakkai colluded with all the 43 rice millers and gave them a clean chit. After which many questions were raised on the investigation, later when MLA Ajay Vishnoi demanded a re-investigation, the whole truth was revealed. Not only this, the supply controller sent the investigation report to Bhopal without the permission of the collector. Now, when an FIR has been filed against 16 rice millers in the re-investigation by the investigation team, in such a situation questions are being raised on the investigation of the supply controller.
FIR has been lodged against 74 people
Just two months ago, District Collector Deepak Saxena had lodged an FIR against 74 people, including rice millers from outside the district and officers and employees of Jabalpur Civil Supplies Corporation, in a similar fake RO transport case of paddy. The shocking thing is that BJP MLA Ajay Vishnoi had also complained about that case.
After the action taken
by the district administration one after another, panic was created amongst the scamster rice millers and the employees and officials who were in collusion with them.
