Srinagar: A landslide has been reported from Rajouri in Jammu and Kashmir. Road traffic has been affected due to a landslide in the Nagrota area of the district. Due to continuous rainfall, soil and debris collapsed and fell on the road. Due to which the movement of vehicles from both sides was affected. However, there is no report of any casualty in this landslide.
BRO team engaged in removing debris
it is seen that debris is lying on the side of the road. Vehicles are seen stopped on the road. There is a long traffic jam on the road. It is also seen raining intermittently.
The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) team is busy clearing the debris from the road. The team is also facing difficulties in clearing the debris and mud on Kotranka Budhal Road in Rajouri. At present, there is no clear information about when the debris will be removed. The intermittent rain is also increasing the problems.
Alert of rain and landslide in many areas
It is worth noting that for Saturday and Sunday, the Meteorological Department had predicted heavy rains and landslides in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir. The Meteorological Department asked those who live in hilly areas to be cautious. At the same time, a landslide also occurred on the Basohli-Bani road in Jammu division on Friday night, the road got blocked due to falling debris. Trees were also seen uprooted at some places.
How will the weather be till August 15
These days, the incidence of rain and landslides has increased in Jammu and Kashmir, due to which the problems of the people living in the hilly villages are not decreasing. Debris is falling on the dry drain on the Basohli-Bani road, while the road remained closed near Shahra on the Hatt Mashka road due to frequent debris falling. Along with this, the Meteorological Department has predicted rain at some places on 12 and 13 August. There may be heavy rain in the hilly areas on Independence Day as well.
