News Topical, Digital Desk : A 32-year-old businessman was killed in a tragic accident on Hyderabad's Cheruvu Cable Bridge early Sunday morning after being hit by a speeding Mercedes car.

The driver of the car fled the scene after the accident. According to police, the car had a West Bengal registration number. The deceased has been identified as Shyam Raj, a resident of the Hafeezpet area.

According to reports, Shyam Raj and his wife arrived at the cable bridge at around 3:15 a.m. He parked his bike and was standing on the road taking photos of his wife. His wife was standing on the sidewalk when a speeding car struck them, hit the railing, and overturned. Shyam Raj was seriously injured in the accident.

Bystanders rushed the injured to the hospital, but he died during treatment around 4 p.m. The driver of the car fled the scene after the accident. According to police, only one person was in the car at the time of the accident. Investigations have revealed that the car was registered to a company.

Police investigation continues

Police said the couple had gone to deliver a parcel and were returning home after dinner. On the way, they stopped briefly at a cable bridge, where the accident occurred.
