Chhatrapati Shivaji had 8 wives, of which Saibai was his first wife. Shivaji had a son named Sambhaji from Saibai, who grew up to be a thorn in the side of Aurangzeb. Apart from this, Shivaji's wives were Soyrabai, Putlabai, Sakvarbai Gaekwad, Kashibai Jadhav, Mohite, Sangunabai and Palkar.
