The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of heavy rains in 14 states of the country during the next 24 hours. According to the forecast, light to moderate rainfall will occur today in other parts of South India including Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam. Heavy rain is also likely at isolated places on Tuesday in parts of eastern and central India including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha.
The Meteorological Department has said that during June 17-18, heavy rains may occur in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Telangana, Karaikal, Kerala and Mahe, Lakshadweep, Karnataka along with strong winds. There is a possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and strong winds with a speed of 40-50 kmph at different places.

There is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in Gujarat, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada and Andaman and Nicobar Islands during June 17 to 20. During this time, winds can blow at a speed of 30-40 km per hour. At the same time, there is a possibility of rain with thunderstorms in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic plains of West Bengal, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha during the next 24 hours. At the same time, there is a possibility of sporadic heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand, eastern Uttar Pradesh. There may be rain in Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh on June 21 and 22.

The Meteorological Department has issued a 'yellow alert' for the national capital till Wednesday, in which light to moderate rain with thundershowers is expected. Also, strong winds can blow at a speed of 50-60 km per hour. The sky is cloudy in Delhi-NCR even today. Light rain may occur till this evening.
