New Delhi:Supreme Court has issued notice to the Centre and Delhi Government in the case of Rau Coaching Centre Incident in the case of the death of three IAS aspirants in the basement of Rao Coaching Centre in Rajendra Nagar, Delhi.

SC also issued notice to MCD

The Supreme Court has also issued a notice to the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). During the hearing, the court said that coaching centres have become death chambers. 

Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance 

The Supreme Court on Monday took suo motu cognizance of the issue related to safety norms in coaching centres. The Supreme Court expressed concern over the recent incidents in coaching institutes in which young aspirants lost their lives.

Asked the Center and Delhi Government

The Supreme Court asked the Centre, Delhi government and MCD what safety norms have been set so far.

The Supreme Court said the incident was an eye-opener and no institutions should be allowed to operate unless they follow safety norms.

The court said that coaching centres are playing with the lives of candidates coming from different parts of the country. The Supreme Court took suo motu cognizance of the deaths in the Delhi coaching centre and issued notice to the Centre and the Delhi government.

IAS Coaching Centre Incident: The protest of students outside the coaching institutes of Old Rajendra Nagar in the capital Delhi continued for the 10th day on Monday. The students demanded compensation from the government and Rao's IAS Study Circle for the tragic death of three UPSC candidates due to waterlogging in the basement of the coaching institute.

Students will organize street plays

Speaking to ANI, Akanksha, one of the students, said that this is the 10th day of the protest and the students will start a new form of protest in the form of 'nukkad natak' (street performance) from 6 pm on Monday.
