The embassy said in the post that these four Indians were provided exit permits from the Myawaddy campus by the Myanmar authorities and repatriation was facilitated through Yangon.
The syndicate is active on the Myanmar-Thailand border
The Indian nationals were rescued from the Myawaddy cyber-scam network and brought from Hpa-an city to Yangon by local authorities. Here they were handed over to the Indian Mission.
There has been an increase in the number of Indians falling prey to international crime syndicates operating in the Myawaddy region on the Myanmar-Thailand border. The embassy's website also warns Indian citizens to be wary of such job offers.
It states that Indian citizens should not accept job offers presented through internet media platforms or other unverified sources. Indian citizens are advised to check/verify the credentials of foreign employers through the Indian Embassy in that country.
