News Topical, Digital Desk : Controversy has deepened over the National Rover Ranger Jamboree, scheduled to be held in Chhattisgarh from January 9 to 13, 2026. Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal, claiming to be the president of the State Council of the Bharat Scouts and Guides, announced the postponement of the event.

After this information was circulated on the internet media on Tuesday evening, State Commissioner of Scouts and Guides, Inder Jeet Singh Khalsa , launched a campaign against the issue, calling it misleading propaganda. The biggest challenge in this entire episode is the contest for the position of President of Scouts and Guides between MP Brijmohan Agrawal and School Education Minister Gajendra Yadav. Both are claiming the position.

Brijmohan claims that the event has been cancelled due to financial irregularities totaling ₹10 crore. The event was supposed to be held in Nava Raipur, but the arrangements were improperly made in Balod. If the event is held, the Education Department will be responsible.

The allegation is that the venue was changed without permission and rules were ignored. A budget of 10 crore rupees has been approved for the state jamboree. This amount was supposed to go to the Scout Guide account, but it was transferred to the account of the District Education Officer (DEO), Balod. Approximately 12,000 to 15,000 Rover-Rangers from various states are expected to attend this jamboree. 5,500 people have already arrived.

There was no corruption

Gajendra Yadav, School Education Minister, said in Bhilai that no corruption has occurred. The Scout Guides' annual program is pre-planned. The allegations being made are false. The government is being maligned.

The Executive Committee decided the venue.

Inder Jeet Singh, State Chief Commissioner of Khalsa Scouts and Guides, feigned ignorance about the controversy surrounding the Khalsa venue. He claimed he was unaware of the earlier proposal for Nava Raipur. However, he added that the state executive had decided to hold the event in Balod.
