News Topical, Digital Desk : Accusing Venezuelan President Maduro of being a drug mafia, the Trump administration has announced a reward of $ 50 million (about Rs 438 crores) for his arrest.

The Trump administration has doubled the previously announced reward for Maduro, who it alleges is one of the world's biggest drug traffickers and is linked to a cartel that supplies fentanyl-laced cocaine to the United States.

Case registered under narco terrorism

Maduro and his associates were charged in Manhattan federal court during Trump's first term in 2020 with narco-terrorism and conspiracy to import cocaine. A bounty of $15 million was then placed on them, which was increased to $25 million by the Biden administration.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said the country's Justice Department has seized $700 million worth of assets linked to Maduro, including two private jets. 7 million tons of cocaine linked to Maduro have also been seized.
