News Topical, Digital Desk : Around 11:30 pm on November 14th, the Bengaluru Metro was thrown into a panic. An email received by the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) alarmed officials. The email threatened to bomb the metro station.

The threatening email was written by a young man, who, citing his ex-wife, threatened to bomb the metro station itself. Police are searching for the suspect who sent the threat, but he has not yet been located.

What is the whole matter?

According to Bengaluru police, this email was sent to the official email account of the BMRCL. The email stated, "My ex-wife is on the staff of the Bengaluru Metro. She is being mentally harassed, so I will bomb the Bengaluru Metro itself." Police have registered an FIR and are investigating the matter.

What did the police say?

According to police, the sender of the threat stated that his ex-wife is a Metro employee. He is being mentally harassed. They harass her even after work. "If my ex-wife is treated this way, I will act like a terrorist and blow up the Metro station," he said.

Case registered under BNS

After verifying the email, BMRCL filed a complaint at the Wilson Garden police station in Bengaluru. The police registered the complaint under sections of the Indian Penal Code. Earlier, on August 7th, a suspicious object was recovered from the Lalbagh Metro station, causing panic throughout the city.
