News Topical, Digital Desk : A horrifying incident has come to light from Tirupati in Andhra Pradesh. In an agraharam in Khazipet mandal of Kadapa district, a 19-year-old youth allegedly slit the throat of a minor girl after she refused to marry him.

Police said the girl died from excessive bleeding, while the accused has been arrested. According to Khazipet police, the accused, Venkatesh, a resident of Anjaneya Kottala village, had been harassing the 16-year-old girl and asking her to marry him.

Even after the girl told him she would only marry a man of her parents' choosing, he refused to stop harassing her. On Friday morning, when the girl's parents were out and she was alone at home, Venkatesh forced his way into the house and began arguing with her over the issue.

Venkatesh slit the girl's throat with a knife.

As their argument escalated, he took a knife from his pocket and slashed the girl's wrist. When the girl screamed for help and fell to the ground, Venkatesh fled the scene.

Girl dies due to excessive bleeding

Neighbors immediately rushed the girl to the hospital and were preparing to transfer her to the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Kadapa when she died from excessive bleeding. Khazipet police registered a case and sent the girl's body to RIMS, Kadapa for a post-mortem examination, after which the body was handed over to the family.

Police took the accused into custody

Within hours of the murder, police detained Venkatesh as he tried to flee. Meanwhile, the girl's family and relatives, along with representatives of women's organizations, protested in Khajipet, demanding justice for the girl and severe punishment for Venkatesh.
