
News Topical, Digital Desk : An Indian Army doctor has saved the life of a passenger in flight. On 14 July 2025 (Wednesday), a passenger's health deteriorated in an Indigo flight going from Chennai to Guwahati. He was treated immediately during the flight itself.
This is how the health of a 75-year-old passenger deteriorated
In fact, a 75-year-old Indian passenger aboard IndiGo flight number 6E-6011 faced a medical emergency at 6:20 pm, due to which he fainted and started sweating profusely. The 75-year-old passenger's hands and feet became cold and he started showing symptoms of hypoglycemia.
Army doctor Major Mukundan started the treatment
The cabin crew immediately gave oxygen to the patient and also made an announcement in the flight for medical assistance. Major Mukundan, an army doctor returning from leave, immediately helped the 75-year-old patient inside the flight. On examination, he found that the patient was in a semi-conscious state. His pupils were reactive and symptoms of hypoglycemia were clearly visible.
Sugar and ORS solution given
Due to limited resources during the flight, Major Mukundan continued to monitor the patient's vitals and oxygen status while administering sugar and ORS solution. After this, his health improved somewhat.
Army doctor treated patients in airport emergency room too
As soon as the flight landed in Guwahati, the patient was taken to the airport emergency room where Major Mukundan continued to treat him. The patient regained consciousness and his condition stabilized by 8 pm. There was a clear improvement in his health. Thus, due to the prompt and selfless action of Major Mukundan and the cooperation of the flight crew, the life of the passenger could be saved.
