Even schools have been closed and entertainment, sports and community events will be canceled.

• So far 16 people have lost their lives in the fire in Los Angeles. More than 12000 buildings have been destroyed in the fire and more than one lakh people have become homeless. 
• There are six wildfires in Los Angeles that are still burning. These fires are scorching about 36,000 acres. The biggest fire is in Palisades. So far, more than 21,300 acres of land has been burnt and more than 5,300 buildings have been destroyed. 
• The fires in Eaton Canyon and Highland Park on the east side of Los Angeles have affected schools and homes, with two elementary schools and parts of Palisades Charter High School damaged. 
• The Los Angeles Unified School District, America's second largest public school district, has asked students and staff not to come to school. They said that the air in the district has become very polluted, due to which the schools have been closed.
• The fire has also engulfed residential areas, due to which the houses of many celebrities were destroyed. 
• The 90-year-old mother of American professional basketball coach Steve Kerr was among millions of people whose homes were burned down in the fire.
• Bungalows of Hollywood stars Paris Hilton, Steven Spielberg, Mandy Moore, Ashton Kutcher have also been burnt to ashes. Even Vice President Kamala Harris's house in Brettonwood area had to be evacuated.

Entertainment industry suffers huge losses

The entertainment industry seems to be suffering a lot due to the fire. The films and TV shows that were currently being shot have been cancelled. 

Amazon MGM Studios and Universal Studios canceled their premieres for 'Unstoppable' and 'The Wolf Man.' Paramount and Max canceled their Wednesday events for 'Better Man' and 'The Pit.'
