Religious rituals on the occasion of Maha Ashtami, Basanti Puja and Punyasnaan took place peacefully in various areas of Bangladesh. Lakhs of devotees participated in the occasion and Bangladesh Army actively performed its duty to ensure security at puja mandaps, bathing ghats and other important religious places.

Bangladesh Army strengthened its security arrangements during the Puja events. The army has arranged for 24-hour patrolling and surveillance at various important places across the country. Apart from this, the army is also providing assistance in traffic management. Lakhs of devotees from India, Sri Lanka and Nepal participated in the Maha Ashtami Punyasnaan held on the banks of the Brahmaputra River at Langlabandha, Narayanganj.
Enthusiasm of devotees at religious places and help from the army
A large number of devotees gathered and performed Puja in various places of Bangladesh such as Chilmari Upazila, Comilla, Chandpur and Chittagong. The army strengthened surveillance in each Puja Mandap area and made continuous efforts to maintain peace. Also, the army established dialogue with Puja committees and priests, creating an atmosphere of trust among all.
