The conspiracy of derailing a train by anti-social elements has again come to light in Gwalior of Madhya Pradesh and Raebareli of Uttar Pradesh. In Gwalior, on Monday night, thick iron rods were tied with wires on the third line tracks on the outer side of Birla Nagar station. When the loco pilot of a goods train coming on the same track saw the rods at around 1.30 am, he applied emergency brakes and stopped the train and an accident was averted.

Conspiracy to derail passenger train in Raebareli

In Raebareli, near Benikama village between Jagatpur-Dariapur station, a cement sleeper was buried adjacent to the track as part of a conspiracy to derail the passenger train. A goods train arrived before the passenger train. The loco pilot saw this and stopped the train by applying brakes. However, the cattle guard (iron sheet installed for safety) of the engine collided with the sleeper. After receiving the information, there was a commotion from Jhansi division to Prayagraj headquarters throughout the day on Tuesday.

Lucknow team will investigate

Jhansi Public Relations Officer Manoj Kumar Singh said that GRP has registered a case against unknown people and started investigation. Assistant Divisional Engineer Prayagraj Rajesh Kumar Kushwaha said that instructions have been given to remove all the cement sleepers from the side of the railway track. Divisional Railway Manager SM Sharma said that a team will be formed from Lucknow level and the case will be investigated.
