Prayagraj News Today: Tethered drone cameras are being deployed in the air to ensure the safety of saints, devotees and tourists in the Maha Kumbh starting from January 13 in the Sangam city of Prayagraj. Through these tethered drone cameras, every inch of the fair of faith can be monitored.
These are being used for the first time in Maha Kumbh. Tethered drone cameras with high technology and security collect images, videos and sensor data. A team of experts has been deployed to monitor them. This time more than 40 crore devotees from India and abroad are expected to reach Maha Kumbh.
Why is the tethered drone special?
According to Mahakumbh district SSP Rajesh Dwivedi, this is a unique device that comes into alert mode within seconds. It is extremely safe for data transmission and is adept at capturing every small and big activity of the fair from a high place. The tethered drone camera is working as a third eye for the police.
SSP Rajesh Dwivedi said that it is impossible for anyone to escape its reach. Through this, apart from the Sangam coast, a close watch is being kept on the highly crowded ghats and major places. He said that this device equipped with high resolution camera has been deployed to keep an eye on temples and other major places, which are issuing alerts related to devotees to the officers in the blink of an eye.
SSP Rajesh Dwivedi further said that tethered drones are a special type of cameras. These cameras are deployed at a certain height by tying them with a rope to a large balloon. These are being installed on high towers in the fair area. From here, the entire fair area is being monitored. They do not have to be taken down again and again and they are capable of monitoring the entire fair area with their sharp eyes.
2750 CCTV cameras will be installed in the fair.
With the help of tethered drones, the police control room of the fair will be able to receive every important footage of the Maha Kumbh. Through this, highly crowded places can be identified and police can be arranged there immediately. Apart from this, any kind of suspicious activity can also be monitored.
According to SSP Rajesh Dwivedi, due to high resolution, these cameras are able to see very far. Apart from tethered drones, the fair area is being monitored with more than 2750 CCTV cameras. More than half of these cameras are AI licensed.
