News Topical, Digital Desk : Hindi cinema's veteran actress Sridevi may not be in this world today, but her films have always kept her alive in the hearts of her fans. The status of Hindi cinema's first female superstar Sridevi was such that when she came on the set, stars from Vinod Khanna to Rajinikanth and Shakti Kapoor would stand up in her honor.
The actress' 62nd birth anniversary is on August 13. On this occasion, the makers of 'Chaalbaaz' recently shared an anecdote related to the actress and Saroj Khan. They told how they shot the most popular song of the film and what happened between Saroj Khan and Sridevi that they had to write a letter to the actress.
Saroj Khan and Sridevi's relationship was bitter-sweet
According to a report in NDTV, veteran filmmaker Pankaj Parasar talked about Sridevi's dedication towards her work and also how attached Saroj Khan and Sridevi were to each other. He also spoke openly about their fights. Pankaj Parasar said, "She and Saroj were very good friends. The first song we were to shoot for Chaalbaaz was 'Bhoot Raja' with Rajinikanth.
He said, "Both of them did not talk to me about that song. The director would sit on one side and the heroine and choreographer would shoot together, but I did not want that. I went to them and told them that I want to shoot this song my way, then Sridevi said okay let's do it. When we were shooting the rain song, she asked me and Saroj what you will do in this song. Sridevi herself had also prepared a sketch, in which the girl is wearing a raincoat and a cap. We both did our homework and then asked Saroj Khan".
Why did Saroj Khan write a letter to Sridevi?
Pankaj Parasar said, "She (Sridevi) had 101 fever, but she shot that song of 'Chaalbaaz'. After every shot, she would come and ask me, haven't I done well?" Not only this, while talking about the relationship between Saroj and Sridevi, the director said that there were many ups and downs in their friendship.
He said, "Saroj Khan came to my house one day and told me that she wanted a favour from me. She gave me a letter and asked me to give it to Sridevi. It was written in the letter that Shri and Shri have come so close that they cannot fight. Let's move on. I read the letter to Sridevi and she had tears in her eyes. Then I told her that I should call her and she would talk. Then I called her and their fight was resolved".
