News Topical, Digital Desk : Indian Naval Ship INS Sunaina deployed in the Indian Ocean Region arrived at Changi Naval Base in Singapore on April 26, its fourth port visit under the Ocean Approach.

INS Sunaina, deployed to the Indian Ocean Region for surveillance, has a multinational crew from 16 friendly countries. It has already visited Male (Maldives), Phuket (Thailand), and Jakarta (Indonesia) with the aim of strengthening maritime cooperation and collective security.

According to the Indian Navy, the second edition of the IOS Sagar initiative, reflecting India's continued commitment to regional maritime cooperation, commenced on March 16. It brought together naval personnel from 16 countries for training onboard Indian Navy ships.

INS Sunaina was given a warm welcome, reflecting the strong maritime ties between India and Singapore. Dr. Shilpak Ambule, High Commissioner of India to Singapore, interacted with the crew.

Commander Siddhartha Chaudhari, Commanding Officer of INS Sunaina, laid a wreath at the Kranji War Memorial and discussed ways to enhance maritime cooperation with Colonel Chuah Meng Soon of the Singapore Navy.

The Navigation and Damage Control Simulator, the Information Fusion Center, and the Naval Museum in Singapore were also visited. The Indian ship was opened to visitors during the visit. INS Sunaina will depart Singapore on Wednesday, April 29.
