Russia Kazan attack  A 9/11-like attack has taken place in the Russian city of Kazan. Drone attacks took place on three big buildings in Kazan. Footage of drones hitting the buildings has also emerged. This has caused a stir in Russia.

Kazan airport was closed

Kazan (Russia News) Airport was also temporarily closed. Arrival and departure of flights have been banned. Russia's aviation watchdog Rosaviatsiya said on Saturday via the Telegram messaging app, this step has been taken after the Ukrainian drone attack on  the city (Kazan attack) .

Russia has also imposed temporary restrictions on two other airports, one in Izhevsk, northeast of Kazan, and one in Saratov. However, the restrictions on Saratov were later lifted.

Eight drone attacks on high rise building 

Russian state news agency TASS reported a drone attack on a residential complex in Kazan, a city located about 800 km east of Moscow. The agency said there were eight drone attacks on residential high-rise buildings. The agencies quoted local authorities as saying that no casualties were reported.

The Baza Telegram channel, associated with Russian security services, has also released an unverified video footage. In this, a drone is seen hitting a tall building. As soon as the drone hits, a huge fireball is formed and the building appears to be damaged.

Russia accuses Ukraine of

After the attack, the Russian Defense Ministry accused Ukraine (Russia Ukraine War) of being behind it. Russia said that Ukraine has committed a grave mistake.

Kazan was in the news this year

The Russian city of Kazan was in the news for hosting the 2024 BRICS summit. It is also called the third capital of Russia. The FIFA World Cup was held here in 2018. India is also going to open its embassy here.

Kazan is 1400 km away from Ukraine
