The problem of sleeplessness is at the top among the complaints received in this helpline. That means most Indians are troubled by the problem of sleeplessness at night. 

what does the report say 

Let us tell you that Tele Manas Mental Health Helpline was started in October 2022. This helpline has received calls from more than 3.5 lakh Indians across the country. Recently on October 10, the government assessed the report on Tele Manas, in which it came to light that more than 100 percent of people are troubled by the problem of insomnia. At the same time, 14 percent of people are troubled by depressed mood, 11% by stress and 4% by anxiety.

The report also states that at least three percent of the total complaints are related to suicide. However, the complaint of insomnia is on top. Let us tell you that most of the calls on Tele Manas Mental Health Helpline came from men which is 56 percent and 72% of the calls were from people in the age group of 18 to 45 years.

With changing times, depression, anxiety and stress have increased among people, due to which the problem of sleeplessness has increased among people. Along with this, unbalanced lifestyle, watching mobile or TV till late night and irregular working hours have also caused a lot of disturbance in sleep. How many hours of sleep is necessary at what age 

Health experts say that children between 16 and 17 years should sleep at least 13 hours a day. People between 20 and 55 years should sleep at least 7 hours a day. If you are above 50 years of age, you should sleep for 6 hours. Sleep relaxes your body after a long day of work. It is like a spa which not only reforms the body but also gives plenty of energy for the next day. It improves efficiency and brain development. The chemical process that takes place in the brain while sleeping increases brain capacity and helps in preventing the negative effects of aging.

Lack of sleep not only puts you at risk of many diseases but it also leads to premature aging and reduces the hours of your life. All the organs of the body of people who do not get enough sleep are not able to function properly, premature wrinkles start appearing on the face and along with mental stress, the ability to work is also adversely affected.

Health experts say that lack of sleep increases the risk of mental diseases as well as cancer, brain stroke, heart disease and even diabetes. Disturbing the sleep cycle has a bad effect on the body's metabolism and the person starts gaining weight.
