Beirut: Israel carried out several airstrikes on the downtown city of Lebanon's capital Beirut on Thursday night. 22 people were killed and 117 were injured in this attack. According to the Israel Defense Force (IDF), these airstrikes were carried out targeting the areas around Ras el-Nabeh, al-Nuwairi. Hezbollah, an Iran-backed organization active in Lebanon, carried out several attacks on Israel, in retaliation for which Israel has targeted Hezbollah's key leaders and bases.

The Israel Defense Force fired several rockets in a few minutes. Locals made videos after the attack, in which smoke is seen coming out of the buildings. The loud sound of ambulance sirens was heard in the city. Let us tell you that this was done by targeting densely populated residential areas. 22 people have been confirmed dead and 117 injured in the attack.

Security sources said that Israel had targeted a top Hezbollah leader in this attack. After several failed attempts by Israel, this attack is being considered largely successful.

Israel also targeted peacekeepers

Not only the local people of Lebanon have been affected by this Israeli attack, but UN peacekeepers have also been injured. Israeli soldiers are accused of repeatedly attacking UN peacekeepers in Lebanon, in which two Indonesian peacekeepers were injured.

Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto has condemned this as a hostile act. He said - this is a war crime. Spain has called it a violation of international law. The United Nations has expressed concern about its seriousness.

Israeli forces have been carrying out relentless attacks on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon since last month, killing more than 1,200 people and displacing hundreds of thousands. The conflict escalated when Hezbollah launched cross-border attacks inside Israel, prompting Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to vow to continue fighting until the conflict is over.

Israel warns Lebanese citizens

Before the air strikes on Thursday, the Israeli army had warned Lebanese civilians in the south not to return to their homes and asked them to move elsewhere. Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said that contacts were going on between the US and France with the aim of a ceasefire. However, there has been no comment from the US or France in this regard.
