According to the Indian Meteorological Department, the plains of North India including Delhi and UP are likely to experience intense heat for the next two days. IMD said that the temperature in the plains of North India may increase by 2-3 degrees in the next two days. However, after this, there is a possibility of getting relief for a few days. Heat may also increase in some parts of Haryana, Rajasthan, Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Bihar. The maximum temperature in Delhi on Sunday was recorded at 34 degrees Celsius, which is 2.8 degrees more than the average temperature of the season. It is likely to increase in the next two days.

According to meteorologists, a fresh western disturbance may affect the western Himalayan region from Monday night, but it will not have much effect on the temperature of the plains. The temperature in Uttar Pradesh is likely to rise by 4-6 degrees Celsius in the next four days.

There is a possibility of rain and snowfall in these areas

There may be light rain in Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit Baltistan, Muzaffarabad region on 25-27 March. At the same time, there may be heavy rain or snowfall in these places on 26 March. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in Himachal Pradesh on 25-27 March and in Uttarakhand on 26-27 March.  

Western disturbance will have an effect on the mountains

Mahesh Palawat, Vice President, Climate and Meteorology, Skymet Weather, said, "Conditions are very dry. A western disturbance is approaching, but its effect will be limited to the mountains. Due to cloudless skies and direct sunlight, maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to rise over northwest India, especially the plains. Winds are also expected to be southwesterly. We cannot expect much drop in temperatures after the western disturbance passes. There may be a slight drop in temperatures after March 27." 

How will the situation in Delhi be?

Palawat said, "The maximum temperature in Delhi and adjoining areas is also expected to reach 30 degrees." On Sunday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 15 degrees Celsius, while the humidity level here remained between 67 and 24 percent. The weather department has predicted clear skies on Monday with the maximum temperature reaching 34 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature being 17 degrees Celsius. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the Air Quality Index (AQI) in Delhi was recorded at 189 at 4 pm, which falls in the 'moderate' category.
