New Delhi: Voting is being held today on 33 assembly seats in 11 states of the country including Bihar, Bengal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Assam. By-elections are also being held on Wayanad Lok Sabha seat and Chelakkara assembly seat in Kerala. Voting is being held today for both the constituencies.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi is contesting from Wayanad seat (Wayanad By elections) . She is pitted against BJP candidate Navya Haridas. Before the voting started, she said, "The people of Wayanad need a person who can work with them at the grassroots level and who can raise their issues in Parliament and find solutions. This time Congress is trying to influence the voters by giving kits, money, liquor, everything. Because there is a fear for the Congress that they are going to lose this election."
Voting continues in Raipur South seat
By-election is being held today in Chhattisgarh's Raipur South Assembly seat. There is an atmosphere of enthusiasm among voters regarding voting. People have started reaching the polling booths for voting since morning. Congress candidate Akash Sharma voted with his family in the morning. Akash Sharma reached Sundarnagar polling booth to vote with his mother, wife, and sisters.
The people of Channapatna will make me victorious: Nikhil Kumaraswamy
By-election is being held today in Karnataka's Channapatna assembly seat. JD(S) leader and candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy said, "For the last 18 days, people have shown faith in me. Today I am confident that the work done by HD Devegowda and HD Kumaraswamy will help me win. The youth are with me. I am confident that the people of Channapatna will bless me."
