The central government has released a tax devolution of Rs 1,78,173 crore to the state governments. In this, UP has received the highest amount of Rs 31,962 crore. If seen in the context of all the states, this tax devolution includes an advance installment of Rs 89,086.50 crore in addition to the regular installment payable in October 2024. The Finance Ministry has said that the advance installment was released in view of the upcoming festive season and to enable the states to accelerate capital expenditure and finance their development/welfare expenditure.
CM Yogi Adityanath has also reacted to this decision of the Center . He wrote on the social media site X, "Heartfelt gratitude to the Prime Minister and the Finance Ministry for timely transferring Rs 31,962 crore to Uttar Pradesh under tax transfer. This advance installment will greatly boost our festive season preparations and will accelerate development and welfare initiatives across the state. Together we are building a stronger and more prosperous Uttar Pradesh."
Let us tell you that the state government will spend this money on the various schemes that have been announced. The government had recently announced to give bonuses to the employees and two free cylinders to the BPL category people during the festive season. The state government spends crores of rupees on these schemes. In such a situation, the state government will get a lot of relief if it receives tax devolution money from the Center.
