
News Topical, Digital Desk : IPL team Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Monday approached the Karnataka High Court in the stampede case. RCB has filed a petition in the court requesting to dismiss the criminal case registered against it in the M Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede case.

11 people died in this stampede. DNA Entertainment Networks Pvt Ltd, the company which organised the event at the stadium to celebrate RCB's victory in the IPL final, has also filed a separate petition challenging the FIR lodged against it.
only limited passes available
RCB owner Royal Challengers Sports Limited (RCSL) has argued that it has been wrongly implicated in the case. According to the petition, RCSL claimed that it had clearly stated on social media that only limited passes were available.

She also said that pre-registration was mandatory even for entry with free passes. She alleged that the stadium gates, which were supposed to open at 1:45 pm, were actually opened at 3 pm, leading to overcrowding.
Police-RCB failed in crowd management
According to the company, the incident happened due to the police's failure in crowd management. The High Court is expected to hear the matter on Monday afternoon.
