Beirut: Pager Blast in Lebanon Nine people were killed in a serial blast in the pagers of members of the terrorist organization Hezbollah in Lebanon. These blasts took place in the pagers of thousands of Hezbollah members, in which more than 3000 people were also injured.

Hezbollah fighters used these pagers to communicate with each other. Now it has come to light that Israel was behind this blast.

Mossad had planted explosives

Israel's intelligence agency Mossad had planted a small amount of explosives inside 5,000 Taiwan-made pagers ordered by Lebanese terror group Hezbollah months before the Lebanon bombings on Tuesday. A senior Lebanese security source told news agency Reuters that Mossad was behind this .

Played in collaboration with Taiwanese company

A senior Lebanese security source said Hezbollah had ordered 5,000 pagers made by Taiwanese company Gold Apollo. They were delivered to the country earlier this year.

It is now believed that Mossad played this game in collaboration with the Taiwanese company and the attack was planned several months in advance.

So this is how pager blasts were carried out

The Lebanese source said that the pager was tampered with at the production stage by the Israeli intelligence agency Mossad. Mossad injected a board inside the device which contains explosive material that receives a code. It is very difficult to detect it by any means. Not even by any device or scanner.

The source said 3,000 pagers exploded when a coded message was sent to them, activating explosives as well. Another security source told Reuters that the new pagers contained up to three grams of explosives and remained undetected by Hezbollah for months.

A senior Lebanese security source has identified a photo of the pager, model AP924. It receives and displays text messages wirelessly like other pagers , but cannot make telephone calls. Hezbollah fighters are using pagers as a low-tech means of communication in an attempt to evade Israeli location-tracking.

9 people died, 3000 injured

This operation by Mossad is considered an unprecedented security lapse by Hezbollah. In this, thousands of pagers exploded across Lebanon, killing nine people and injuring about 3,000 others. Those killed included Hezbollah fighters and Iran's envoy to Beirut.

vowed to retaliate

Iran-backed Hezbollah has vowed to retaliate against Israel. However, Israel has refused to comment on the explosions. Several sources told Reuters that the plot had been planned for several months.
