Taipei: Tensions between Taiwan and China continue. Once again, Beijing's army tried to intrude into Taiwan. Taiwan's Ministry of National Defense (MND) has said that from 6 am on Sunday to 6 am on Monday, 9 Chinese military aircraft and 9 naval ships were operating near Taiwan on Sunday morning.

Furthermore, the ministry said, 6 of the 9 People's Liberation Army (PLA) aircraft crossed the midline of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan's eastern air defense identification zone (ADIZ).

Taiwan replied to China

In response, Taiwan monitored the situation and responded promptly. On Sunday, Taiwan detected 36 Chinese military aircraft and 12 naval ships, 31 of which crossed the median line of the Taiwan Strait and entered Taiwan's northern, central, southwestern, southeastern, and eastern air defense identification zones (ADIZ).

36 Chinese ships were detected in the month of August

According to a Taiwan News report, Taiwan has detected PLA aircraft 71 times and Chinese ships 36 times since the beginning of August. Since September 2020, China has intensified its use of grey zone tactics by increasing the number of military aircraft and naval ships operating around Taiwan.

China has increased its military activities around Taiwan, including regular air and naval incursions into Taiwan's ADIZ and military exercises near the island.

Increased use of gray zone strategy from 2020

For information, let us tell you that China considers Taiwan as its part, while Taiwan considers itself a sovereign nation. So far China has not directly attacked Taiwan, but it does all this in the grey zone.
