
News Topical, Digital Desk : There was a commotion in Binka area of Subarnapur district of Odisha on Saturday morning when a car without number plate suddenly caught fire. This incident happened near Nuabazar area of Binka at around 8 am. Later it was found that this car was full of narcotics and the driver himself set it on fire.
Fire started after tyre burst
According to the information, when the car was passing through the market area, one of its tyres burst. Hearing the sound of the tyre bursting, people from the vicinity started gathering near the car. Then the driver of the car panicked and poured petrol in the car and set it on fire. It is believed that the driver's intention was to destroy the evidence of drug smuggling on the spot.
Drugs were present in the car
As soon as the car caught fire, it was engulfed in flames within minutes and was completely burnt to ashes. People passing by informed the fire brigade, after which the fire brigade team reached the spot and controlled the fire. Initial investigation by the police has revealed that about three quintals of narcotics were loaded in the car. The car was without a number plate, making it difficult to identify the smugglers. However, the driver has fled from the spot and a search has been started for him.
Police trying to identify the driver
Binka police has reached the spot and started investigation. Local people are being questioned and footage of nearby CCTV cameras is being scanned so that the driver can be identified.
