Air quality improved marginally

Meanwhile, after remaining in the very poor category for the past four days, air quality has partially improved and reached the poor category. This temporary relief may last for a day or two. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature on Friday was 17 degrees Celsius, 0.2 degrees below normal, the lowest this season so far.

The maximum temperature was recorded at 32.3 degrees Celsius, 0.5 degrees above normal. The humidity level in the air ranged from 96 to 39 percent. Pusa was the coldest area in Delhi, with a minimum temperature of 16.0 degrees and a maximum of 30.4 degrees.

According to the Meteorological Department, fog is expected on Saturday morning, while the sky will remain clear during the day. A western disturbance will bring clouds on Sunday evening and night. Light rain is possible on Monday and Tuesday.

AQI remained 275

According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi's air quality improved on Friday. Winds brought the 24-hour average air quality index (AQI) to 275, which falls in the poor category. It had been in the very poor category for the previous four days. Anand Vihar recorded the highest AQI of 414 among all monitoring stations.

Cyclonic storm over Bay of Bengal likely to cause heavy rain in these states

The India Meteorological Department ( IMD) has warned of extremely severe weather in the coming days due to a low pressure area developing in the Bay of Bengal. It is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm (Montha) over the southwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal by October 27.

This cyclone is expected to bring heavy to very heavy rainfall to coastal areas of Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha over the next few days. The IMD has issued a red alert for several areas of these states.

How dangerous is Cyclone Montha becoming?

The Meteorological Department stated that under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation that formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal and the adjoining south Andaman Sea on Thursday, a low pressure area formed over the southeast Bay of Bengal at 05:30 am today, October 24. This low pressure area is moving slowly west-northwestward. It is expected to intensify into a cyclonic storm by the morning of October 27.

Fishermen put on alert due to Cyclone Montha

The fisheries department has advised fishermen not to venture into the southwest region adjoining the central Bay of Bengal, Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh coasts from October 25 and Odisha coasts from October 26.
