News Topical, Digital Desk : Losing a lot of weight in a short period of time may seem like a dream to many, but it can also have serious side effects. Sudden and rapid weight loss can lead to problems like weakness, hormonal imbalance, gallstones, and even organ damage. One such case has come to light from Hangzhou, China, where a 26-year-old woman tried to lose about 15 kg in just two months, but in the end, she was diagnosed with prediabetes

Girl in China took steps to lose weight

This young woman, identified as Xiaoyu, wanted to slim down quickly for her best friend's wedding. To achieve this, she adopted what has been called the "Devil Weight-Loss Plan." Under this plan, she eliminated almost all staple foods from her diet and began eating only small amounts of vegetables and chicken breast. She also engaged in intense daily workouts, sometimes running more than 10 kilometers.

This strict routine quickly paid off, and Xiaoyu's weight reached 50 kilograms before her wedding. Initially, she was overjoyed by this change, but the joy was short-lived. Soon, she began experiencing constant fatigue, excessive thirst, ravenous hunger, dizziness, and a rapid heartbeat.

Xiaoyu then consulted a doctor in the endocrinology department of a hospital in Hangzhou. Tests revealed that her fasting blood sugar and two-hour glucose levels were significantly higher than normal. Based on these symptoms, doctors diagnosed her with prediabetes.

What does the doctor say?

According to doctors, she had almost completely cut out carbohydrates while simultaneously engaging in high-intensity exercise. This disrupted insulin balance, caused severe muscle and water loss, and severely impaired metabolism. After being diagnosed, Xiaoyu made lifestyle changes. She adopted a balanced diet and replaced strenuous exercise with moderate-intensity aerobic exercise. Within three months, her weight stabilized at 52.5 kg, and her health improved significantly.

What is the Devil Weight-Loss Plan?

In fact, the "Devil Weight-Loss Plan" isn't a recognized diet. It involves consuming extremely low calories and engaging in excessive exercise. Doctors clearly state that such an approach is neither sustainable nor safe. For healthy weight loss, a gradual, balanced, and scientific approach is the best option.
