Prayagraj: A strange case was heard in the Allahabad High Court. During the hearing of the petition of Purushottam Singh and four others, it came to light that three years after the death of a person in Kushinagar, the police registered an FIR of fraud on his behalf and also took action.

The court commented that it seems that the ghost lodged the FIR. The court has cancelled the criminal case proceedings in the entire episode and directed SP Kushinagar to investigate. This fact was surprising for Justice Saurabh Shyam Shamsheri.

He said, 'He is speechless with the facts of the case, how the police investigate the crime. The police recorded the statement of a man who died three years ago.' The court has directed SP Kushinagar to investigate the investigation officer who recorded the statement of a 'ghost' who harassed the innocent and submit a report.

The court said, Mamta Devi has given the Vakalatnama signed by the deceased person to advocate Vimal Kumar Pandey. The High Court asked the Bar Association to teach the lawyers to be careful in future. The facts related to the case are that the complainant Shabd Prakash died on 19 December 2011.

This has also been supported in the report of CJM Kushinagar which he has given on the basis of the statement of the deceased's wife and the death certificate. Despite the death, an FIR was lodged in Kotwali Hata in the name of Shabd Prakash in 2014.

The police filed a chargesheet in the case on November 23, 2014 and named deceased Shabd Prakash as a prosecution witness. The petition challenged the validity of the case proceedings and sought its quashing.
