This is actually a copy of the first comic of the famous superhero "Superman No. 1." After selling for ₹81 crore, it has become the world's most expensive comic.
Comic found in mother's belongings
The three brothers' mother passed away last year in San Francisco. Recently, while cleaning out the house, they found a cardboard box that belonged to their mother, containing some newspaper clippings gathering dust. When they opened the cardboard box, they discovered their oldest comic book collection.
Mother gave information
According to Lon Allen, vice president of Comics at Heritage Auctions, the deceased woman had told her children that she had a valuable collection of comic books. However, her children had never seen it. After her death, the children decided to sell her house. When they went into a room in the basement, they found the comic.
When the three brothers opened the box containing the comic, they sent a message to the auction company. Allen traveled to San Francisco to investigate the matter. He sent the copy of Superman to experts for examination, and it was determined to be the first copy of the comic.
The world's most expensive comic book
The first issue of Superman was published in 500,000 copies, and this copy was one of them. This comic was auctioned for $9.12 million, making it the world's most expensive comic. Previously, this record was held by "Action Comics No. 1," which sold for $6 million (approximately ₹53 crore).
