News Topical, Digital Desk : One January evening, one of Bollywood's most soulful voices, Arijit Singh, suddenly announced his retirement from playback and then returned with even more melodious tunes and soothing voice. Following his recent collaborative stage performance with Anoushka Shankar and Bikram Ghosh, the musician has released a song. Interestingly, this isn't a love song, but rather a devotional song. Yes, Arijit Singh has immersed himself in devotion before Shivratri. Furthermore, this song has also arrived before Shivratri, making it a good occasion.
Arijit makes a new beginning?
He also clarified that he would honor existing commitments and that some songs would be released later this year. However, there are no new film projects lined up for the 38-year-old singer, who has defined modern Hindi film music with his emotional style.
But the new, heartfelt Shiva bhajan, "Oh Shiva Mere," is his first independent track since his retirement, marking a permanent shift toward personal music projects. Composed by Mandeep Panghal, it features guitar and strokes by Shomu Seal and Swastik Shubham. The chorus features vocals by Piyush Ranjan, Sakshi Holkar, Sonam Pathak, and Mandeep Panghal.
Unlike his usual upbeat dance numbers and soft romantic numbers, this devotional song features a spiritual theme. Fans welcomed the change, and despite Arijit's lack of promotion on social media, the track went viral online. Reactions poured in: some expressed surprise at his devotional direction, while others praised the heartwarming composition.
