News Topical, Digital Desk : US President Donald Trump told reporters on Monday that he believes the Iranian people should rise up against their country's government if a ceasefire is announced, but he also understands that doing so would be extremely dangerous for them.

" Well, they should do it, but again, the consequences are very serious. I mean, they were told, 'If you resist, you'll be shot immediately,' " Trump said during a White House press conference.

Trump threatens to destroy Iran

He also said he believed Iranians would be willing to endure this to achieve freedom. Trump also warned that the US could destroy all of Iran in a single night, and that night could be Tuesday evening.

Trump continues to threaten

Earlier, in a scathing barrage of profanity, Trump had threatened Iran with attacks on its power plants, bridges and other infrastructure if Tehran failed to reach a deal or reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
