News Topical, Digital Desk : Tensions have eased somewhat since the two-week ceasefire between the US and Iran was announced, but the danger remains. Iran has ordered its military to cease fire, but has also made it clear that this is not the end of the war. Iran has warned that if the enemy makes any mistakes, it will respond with full force.

Iran's Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, has ordered all military units to observe a ceasefire and stop firing, according to a statement issued by state broadcasters. He said this is not the end of the war, but all forces must obey orders and cease fire.

'Hands will remain on the trigger'

Following the ceasefire announcement, Iran's Supreme National Security Council issued a stern statement, stating that the ceasefire does not mean the end of the war. Iran clarified that its military is on full alert and will respond immediately if necessary. Iran warned that any aggressive action by the US or Israel would be met with full force.

The conflict began on February 28th with a joint US-Israeli strike that killed Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The 39-day-long war has resulted in significant casualties across several countries, and the situation remains grim. Iran has praised the sacrifices of its citizens and stated that it has achieved most of its objectives and weakened the enemy.

Iran's 10-point conditions

The US initially proposed 15 points, to which Iran responded with 10, which now form the basis of negotiations. These conditions include controlled transit through the Strait of Hormuz, the withdrawal of US forces from the region, the lifting of all sanctions on Iran, and the return of assets stranded abroad.

Apart from this, Iran has also demanded compensation for the losses incurred in the war and approval of all these conditions in the form of a resolution of the United Nations Security Council.

Iran has confirmed that talks with the US will begin on April 10 in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad. These talks will last two weeks and could be extended if necessary. Iran has appealed to its people to remain united and described the ceasefire as a step toward a potential historic victory.

Trump's statement

US President Donald Trump also hailed the ceasefire as a major achievement. He stated that the US had largely achieved its military objectives. Trump also stated that Iran's 10-point proposal is a good basis for negotiations and could pave the way for lasting peace. However, he clarified that the ceasefire will only continue if Iran agrees to completely, safely, and immediately reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
