News Topical, Digital Desk : The death of Indian youth Saket Srinivasaiah has shocked everyone. The 22-year-old man died in the United States. Saket was pursuing a master's degree at the University of California, Berkeley.

Saket Srinivasaiah had been missing from the university campus for six days. During these six days, efforts continued to locate him, but there was no news of his whereabouts.

Six days after Saket's disappearance, the Indian Consulate has announced that police have recovered his body. The Indian Consulate has also assured all possible assistance in repatriating Saket's body to India.

Who was Saket Srinivasaiah?

Saket Srinivasaiah was from Karnataka and was enrolled in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Saket was a master's student in the Department of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at UC Berkeley. He received his undergraduate degree from IIT Madras.

Saket has a passion for deep-tech innovation in soft and active materials, semiconductors, and advanced materials.  Saket is pursuing a Master of Science (MS) in the Product Development Program (PDP) at the University of California, Berkeley. Saket began his studies in August 2025 and was scheduled to complete the course in May 2026.

Saket earlier completed his Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) in Chemical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras).

In addition to his studies, Saket was also involved in student initiatives at IIT Madras. Through the E-Cell at IIT Madras, he played several key roles over the course of two years.
