Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have worked together in several films, but they haven't been seen together since 1985. But now, after 40 years, the reunion of these greats is about to take place, creating quite a stir in film circles. The film is currently titled "Thalaivar 174."

Kamal Haasan, in addition to playing the lead role in this Rajinikanth film, is also producing it. The film is being produced under the banner of his production company, Rajkamal Films International. The film has been in the news for quite some time, and now news is coming that Rajinikanth is charging a hefty sum for the project.

What is Rajinikanth's fee for Thalaivar?

According to recent reports, the fee Rajinikanth is charging for Kamal Haasan's new film is comparable to the budgets of blockbuster films Dhurandhar (reportedly ₹250 crore) and Animal (reportedly ₹200 crore). According to Pinkvilla, Rajinikanth's fee for "Thalaivar 174" is ₹225 crore. This amount includes both upfront payment and profit share.

He has also taken huge fees for these films.

Charging a fee of ₹200 crore is nothing new for Rajinikanth. It's said that the actor charged around ₹210 crore for the 2023 film Jailer, and ₹200 crore for the 2025 film Coolie.
