At this time, the sister's face should be towards the west and the brother's face should be towards the east. In simple words, the brother and sister should sit in the east and west directions. If for some reason such an arrangement is not made in the house or the directions are not matching, in such a situation, the brother can sit facing the north. Gods and goddesses reside in the east and north directions.

Today, Bhadra's shadow will last till 01:32 PM. After this, sisters can tie Rakhi to their brothers. It is mentioned in the scriptures that Rakhi should be tied before sunset. Rakhi should be tied facing east or north before sunset. By doing this, happiness and good fortune increase immensely.
