News Topical, Digital Desk : The Anti Narcotics Task Force of the Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted an inter-state heroin supply chain. During the operation by the Delhi Police team, a huge amount of high-grade heroin and three phones were confiscated. According to Delhi Police, the value of the seized heroin in the international market is estimated to be around Rs 80 lakh.  Qasim and notorious woman smuggler Bindu Devi have been arrested in the operation by Delhi Police.

According to Delhi Police, Bindu Devi has already been accused in two NDPS Act cases, and was expelled from Delhi on the orders of Shahdara Police since July 2024. But despite this, she continued the drug business while staying in Gurugram through her son-in-law Arif alias Sameer.

Delhi Police took action as per strategy

On 29th July, Delhi Police team received an intelligence input. Acting on this information, Delhi Police arrested Kashim from Seemapuri area. During the search, Delhi Police found a huge amount of heroin with him. During interrogation by Delhi Police, he revealed that he works for Bindu Devi. After which, on the basis of electronic surveillance and Kashim's information, police arrested Bindu Devi from Saini Kheda village in Gurugram on 3rd August. Police recovered a huge amount of cash from her which was earned from drug dealing. On her information, more heroin was recovered from Seemapuri.

Criminal history of the accused

According to Delhi Police, accused Qasim used to work in a hardware shop and after getting addicted to drugs, he got involved in smuggling. Bindu Devi's husband and son are also drug addicts. They are accused in three cases. Two of which are under NDPS Act. Even after being expelled from Delhi, Bindu Devi remained active in smuggling cases. Delhi Police is trying to trace the absconding accused Arifpur Sameer and the entire network.
