News Topical, Digital Desk : External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar met with his counterparts from France, Germany, and Brazil on the sidelines of the G-7 Foreign Ministers' meeting in Canada. During the meeting, he met with British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper and discussed ways to elevate economic, technological, and security cooperation between the two countries to new heights.
In fact, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said in a post on X, "Delighted to meet UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper on the sidelines of the G-7 in Canada today. Acknowledged the positive momentum in our relationship and reaffirmed the India-UK Vision 2035 to further deepen cooperation in key areas."
India-UK Vision 2035 which will steer bilateral relations for the next 10 years with a focused and time-bound work programme across key pillars such as economy and growth, technology and innovation, defence and security, climate action and education.

According to the India-UK Vision 2035, the two countries will build on strong foundations to establish an intellectual partnership that is sensitive to emerging opportunities, adapts to the rapid advancement of technology and strengthens collaboration in education and research, thereby creating a skilled and visionary talent pool, ready to address global challenges and contribute to a secure and sustainable future for all.
What did the Foreign Minister say?
External Affairs Minister Jaishankar and German Foreign Minister Johann Wadefull discussed the strategic partnership, advancing India-EU relations, and exchanged views on West Asia, Afghanistan, and the Indo-Pacific. The External Affairs Minister said, "It was a great pleasure to meet German Foreign Minister Wadefull in Niagara today. We discussed our strategic partnership and advancing India-EU relations. We exchanged views on the Middle East/West Asia, the Indo-Pacific, and Afghanistan."
Both leaders reviewed the strategic partnership
After meeting French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, Jaishankar said the two leaders took stock of the strategic partnership and discussed deepening cooperation in multilateral and plurilateral formats. He said, "It was a pleasure to meet French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot. Took stock of our strategic partnership. Discussed deepening our cooperation in multilateral and plurilateral formats."
Activation of opportunities for enhanced technical cooperation
Jaishankar said that in his meeting with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira, the two countries discussed opportunities to enhance trade, investment, health and technological cooperation. In a post on X, he said, "It was good to meet with Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira this afternoon. Recognized the recent progress in our bilateral cooperation. We are actively exploring opportunities to enhance trade, investment, health and technological cooperation."
Solving global challenges
According to an official statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar is visiting Canada from November 11 to 13 at the invitation of Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand to participate in the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting along with outreach partners. The External Affairs Minister's participation in the G7 Foreign Ministers' Meeting reflects India's continued commitment to working with international partners in addressing global challenges and strengthening the voice of the Global South in international forums.
The summit will be attended by ministers from G-7 member countries Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, the United States and the European Union, as well as ministers from several outreach nations including India, Australia, Brazil, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, South Korea, South Africa and Ukraine.
