News Topical, Digital Desk : The address of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's office will soon be changing. Work on the new office is nearly complete and is now being finalized. It is expected that the move will take place this month.
The Seva Tirtha complex, which houses the Prime Minister's Office, the Cabinet Secretariat, and the National Security Council Secretariat, is located at the foot of Raisina Hill, near Vijay Chowk. It consists of three high-tech buildings, named Seva Tirtha 1, Seva Tirtha 2, and Seva Tirtha 3.
The Prime Minister's Office has already been shifted to Seva Tirtha 1, while the Cabinet Secretariat has been shifted to Seva Tirtha 2. Seva Tirtha 3 will house the National Security Council Secretariat, where National Security Advisor Ajit Doval will reside.
Central Vista Project
It was built as part of the Central Vista project. The new Parliament building and the Vice President's Enclave have already been completed under the Central Vista project. Additionally, eight new duty buildings are to be built for ministries, three of which are already complete and several ministries have already moved into them. The Prime Minister's Office is expected to move here this month.
Name changed in December
It should be noted that the new PMO was initially named the Executive Enclave, but in December, government sources announced that it would be renamed the Seva Tirtha Complex. At that time, the decision was made to rename Raj Bhavans across the country as Lok Bhavans. The Prime Minister's residence is also being constructed adjacent to Seva Tirtha. Once completed, the Prime Minister's residence will be relocated from 7 Lok Kalyan Marg to the same location as Seva Tirtha.
state-of-the-art room
Seva Teerth has state-of-the-art rooms for meeting dignitaries, reflecting Indian culture and heritage. A special room has also been created for cabinet meetings. The new PMO will also have open-floor seating for most officials, similar to the existing duty buildings.
It should be noted that since independence, the Prime Minister's Office has been located in South Block. The Ministry of External Affairs and the Ministry of Defense also functioned there. The Ministry of Home Affairs and the Ministry of Finance, which used to function in North Block, have now been relocated to Kartavya Bhavan. The Museum of India Through the Ages will be established in the North and South Blocks, both built by the British.
